About the slushie machine
A slushie machine earns its keep at a summer party. It gives kids something to come back to between games, and it is the thing adults reach for when it is ninety degrees in the backyard.
It needs time to freeze down before your guests arrive, so plan to have it running well ahead of when you want the first cup. Set it up early, get it going, then go finish everything else.
Put it in the shade if it is outside. A machine working against direct afternoon sun takes noticeably longer to catch up.
It needs to stay plugged in the whole time it is in use, so think about where the outlet is before you decide where the drinks table goes. An extension cord running across a yard full of running kids is the thing you want to design around rather than solve later.
It pairs naturally with the popcorn machine. Something sweet and cold next to something salty and warm is a real concession stand, and putting them on one table keeps the line moving in one direction.
